MyFUNvelope- the Awesome Craft Subscription Box for Children – Giveaway
Subscriptions boxes are all the rage these days. However, so many of the subscription boxes you see online are for US only or if they do ship to Canada, shipping costs an arm and a leg. Not to mention duty fees! Definitely, not worth it.
So I was excited when I was contacted and asked to do a review of My FUNvelope – a Canadian craft box subscription for children ages 3 to 9 and available both in English and French. Basically, a FUNvelope will arrive each month wherein your child will receive FOUR unique craft projects that follow a fun monthly theme. They will also receive a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) activity/idea for hands on building. Hello, homeschoolers!!
*DISCLAIMER: I was not financially compensated for this post. I received a sample for review purposes. The opinions are completely my own based on my experience.*
We were excited to receive our Christmas themed MyFUNvelope and while my kids are a little bit older than the age range they really enjoyed looking through the available crafts and deciding which ones they wanted to do.
Each craft comes in it’s own bag with all the materials needed for assembly. This makes the craft completely portable for taking to Grandma’s house or even on those long trips to visit family. Absolutely everything you will need to complete the crafts is in the little bags and the fold-out instruction pamphlet is clearly laid out and easy to follow.
In addition to the four crafts, we also received a Christmas Maze activity sheet and a Learn To Draw Santa card.
All the packages looked colourful and fun; however, we decided on the Elf as our first craft. With all the pieces laid out and easily identified, we then read the instructions and found them simple to read and follow along. It was nice having the little squares of tissue all pre-cut and ready to go. I did find the little glue packet a little annoying to get all the glue out but overall it wasn’t that difficult and was just enough glue to cover the Elf hair. The bonus is that there is no big glue puddles getting poured out. I was also a little disappointed that my tissue packet only came with 1 square of red tissue but I imagine that was just a packing fluke. Our Elf turned out quite cute and the easiness of this craft ensures that no matter how little your child is – you’re pretty much guaranteed to get great results!
If you’re a busy mom and don’t have time to put together fun crafts for your kids- this is absolutely perfect for you. Not only do you not have to spend time looking up ideas, you also don’t have to spend time running around finding the materials. This has often been my problem as many of our local stores don’t seem to have what we’re looking for.
I was surprised at how low the subscription cost actually is and as with most subscription services you get more of a discount with the longer time commitment. There is no way I could come up with these fun creative crafts for my children for that price. If you’re not sure as to whether you want to commit to a subscription, MyFUNvelope does have single craft boxes for purchase in a variety of fun themes.
